WINE BUYERS DATABASE
Every issue we interview a celebrity/personality about what wines they love, and why they love them. The celebrity in question will feature on the Front Cover (surely it’s more interesting than wine bottles?).
The original ‘consumer report’ on wine reviews. Our Taste Team consists of 5 Wine lovers who represent a wine-loving public and a monthly guest taster. Every month 6 wines are tasted and reviewed in no more than 60 words. Reviews always include the retail prices, producers’ websites and stockists, to help drive sales.
A more in depth look at educating readers on the subject at hand - wine. Informative, interesting and educational, but without making things too technical, this section is aimed at the curious wine lover and answering those questions which might seem intimidating to some.
Our Editor, Maryna Strachan, is living the winelands lifestyle that so many of our readers aspire to. She’s at the events, the launches & lunches, the polo and all the best festivals. Every month she gives the readers a fun and flirty insight into “livin’ the life” .
Over 30% of our visitors/readers attend the free demonstrations in our food theatre at The Wine Show. They want top tips and easy recipes and who are we to deny them? Every issue features a local or international Chef along with one of their favourite recipes and a perfect wine pairing.
Most of our readers are in Gauteng, Cape Town, Durban and PE. They like wine events. We give them a locally relevant round-up of what’s coming their way winewise each month.
Throughout the month we sample and taste a range of wines and this is the section where we like to highlight specific wines that have really caught our attention, giving a focus to the farm, its owners, the winemaker and the actual wine.
We ask some of the well known and recognised industry personalities 12 poignant questions relating to the South African industry. Their honestviews and opinions on how they interact, market and promote their products and see the local and international industry is always an interesting and often controversial read.
It’s all about the fun side of spirits, showcasing a particular spirit brand and a delicious cocktail. Getting “Into the Spirit” of things is a great way to learn about new spirits and provides the perfect platform and opportunity for a range of brands to promote themselves to people who enjoy life whilst enjoying a yummy tipple.
